Title: Networking: It’s as Easy as PIE!
We all know that to get a job, we're supposed to "network." These days it's not enough to apply for a job online and hope to get a call. Most good jobs are not advertised - they're found through networking. But how do you network? Well, it's as easy as PIE! In our friendly and fun workshop, learn how to use the PIE Method for Career Success. Using this method, it is easy and fun to meet new people and develop an effective network that will help YOU find the job or career YOU want.

Title:Job Searching with a Disability or Health Condition

Do you have a disability or health condition? Are you also a skilled and talented job-seeker? If so, you know first-hand just how difficult it can be to tackle a job-search.

In this workshop, we will discuss the ins and outs of what it takes to be successful in your job search! We’ll answer questions like:

  • How should I talk to an employer about my disability or health condition? How can I avoid questions I don’t want to answer?
  • How can I tell an employer I CAN DO the job just as well as, or better than, someone else?
  • How should I ask for an accommodation or special arrangement I may need?

On Day 2, we will feature Attorney Angela Walker of Nacht and Associates, PC. Angela will answer your questions about job searching and your rights under the law. Angela regularly advises job-seekers and employees on difficult questions related to employment law, disability discrimination, accommodations, and medical leave issues.

Career questions? We've got answers.
At this special offering, get expert advice from a team of employers and career professionals who care about your success! Guest advisors will provide quick, honest feedback on things like:
  • Your resume and cover letter
  • Your job search strategy
  • How you answer common interview questions
  • Your professional image
  • Networking leads and job opportunities

Just like in “speed networking,” get numerous 8-minute advice sessions throughout the event!

  • Effectively research a company before an interview.
On the last day of the class, we will have a panel of employers to provide tips and advice for interviews!
